Mrs. Mareta Aldean (Pickett) Rose - Country 103.9 WRBI

Mareta Aldean (Pickett) Rose, age 99, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 10, 1919, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Clovis and Tempest (Sanders) Pickett. She was raised in Switzerland County where she was a 1937 graduate of the Patriot High School. Mareta was united in marriage on April 8, 1941 to Sammy Gurley Rose. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Larry and Terry. Mareta and Sammy shared 46 years of marriage together until Sammy passed away on March 7, 1987. Mareta was wonderful homemaker and cook and helped her husband on the family farm. She resided all of her life in Switzerland County and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. Mareta passed away at 2:20 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2019, at her residence.Mareta will be missed by her sons, Larry Gene Rose of Vevay, IN and Terry Wayne Rose and his wife, Evelyn of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” Rose and his wife, Shonda, Michael Rose and Travis Rose; her great-grandchildren, Kristen Rose and her companion, Quentin Wright, Chelsea Duvall and her fiancé, Klint Kirkpatrick and Wyatt Rose; her great-great-grandchildren, Brinley Sierrah Wright and Blayke Lauren Wright.She was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis and Tempest (Sanders) Pickett; her husband, Sammy Gurley Rose, died March 7, 1987; her great-granddaughter, Lauren Marie Rose, died September 26, 2018 and her sister, Falba Ray, died June 16, 1948.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., by Bro. Mrs. Vera Marie (Schroeder) McSwain - Country 103.9 WRBI

Vera Marie (Schroeder) McSwain, age 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on March 5, 1931, in Patriot, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Cliva E. and Clara M. (Uhlmansiek) Schroeder. She was raised in Switzerland County where she was a 1949 graduate of the Patriot High School. Vera was united in marriage on July 24, 1954 at the Concord Community Church in Patriot, Indiana to the late, Russell David McSwain. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Kevin and Brian. Russell and Vera shared 61 loving years of marriage together until Russell passed away on August 16, 2015. In 1991, Vera was employed as the county extension director for the Switzerland County ASCS Office in Vevay, Indiana, retiring in 1998, after 30 years of service. Russell and Vera resided all of their lives in the Switzerland County community until moving in 2008 to the Indianapolis community to be near their son and grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and dear friend. Vera passed away at 2:31 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Aspen Trace in Greenwood, Indiana.Vera will be deeply missed by her son, Brian McSwain and his wife, Susie of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Heather Dornbusch and her husband, Ben, Benjamin D. McSwain, Brianna M. McSwain and Jenna M. McSwain all of Indianapolis, IN; her great-granddaughters, Clara and Abigail Dornbusch of Indianapolis, IN; her sisters-in-law, Marguerite Schroeder of Bedford, IN, Mary Lou Hart of Madison, IN and Charlene McSwain of Decatur, IN and her several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliva E. and Clara M.
